It Takes a Village [On a Skirt]

Susana Fernandez | A Key to the Armoire

Susana Fernandez | A Key to the Armoire

We had a very sunny day, so I decided to wear one of my favorite skirts. It features a printed village at the hem in browns, greens, and teals. I normally wear it with a white, button down shirt, but this time, I decided to style it with a turquoise sweater, and I rather liked it. I also added my teal bag and a few bangles from my vintage Bakelite and ivory collection to highlight the colors featured on the skirt.

On a whole, I felt feminine and classic, which is always a plus when dressing professionally. What do you think?

I Wore:

  • Cashmere Sweater: Michael Kors
  • Linen Print Skirt: Anne Klein
  • Ostrich-Embossed Leather Belt: Albatros
  • Suede Shoes: Ann Taylor
  • Earrings: Mini sterling silver hoops
  • Ring: Sterling silver
  • Bracelets: Vintage Bakelite bangles from the 1940s; turquoise; antique ivory bangles from the 1930s
  • Necklace: Vintage amber torsade
  • Crocodile-Embossed Leather Bag: Longchamp, Roseau (here
  • Gold and Stainless Steel Watch: Raymond Weil, Toccata
  • Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren Purple Label (here
  • Perfume: So de la Renta, (here) Many people ask me the kind of perfume I wear. This has been my signature scent for quite a while. I find that it is both fresh and flirty, light and feminine, and very classic. When I looked online, I was pleasantly identified by the description in the Oscar de la Renta site: “For the spontaneous, energetic woman who spreads her enthusiasm everywhere she goes. A radiant, sparkling scent.” And also, “So de la Renta revels in the elegant, unexpected, playful side of the Oscar woman.”
  • Lipstick: In order to follow the Bordeaux trend for fall, I picked up this wonderfully rich shade of burgundy by Revlon, called Black Cherry 477 (here), and lined my lips with the Obsession 064 (here) from Rimmel.

Me Puse:

  • Suéter de Cashmere: Michael Kors
  • Falda de Lino: Anne Klein
  • Cinturón de Piel troquelada en Avestruz: Albatros
  • Pendientes/Zarcillos: Mini aros/argollas de plata esterlina
  • Anillo/Sortija: De plata esterlina
