The Pea Coat Challenge [Day 1]
I am terrified with the devastation that Sandy has caused in the Northeast. At the same time, I’m thankful that we got spared, but cannot help thinking that we would have been better prepared to deal with it. I almost feel silly posting when I know so many people are having such a difficult time, so I’ll keep this short and simple.
I wore this for Day 1 of a Fall Remix that Jessica, from What I Wore, sponsored on her site. We were to remix one piece from our Fall closet in two ways. I chose this pea coat, and this is the more informal styling I featured. Tomorrow, I’ll post the second one.
Although the coat doesn’t feature this purplish-burgundy shade, I felt it went very well with the browns, yellows, and reds in it, and tied it together with the orangey-tan accessories. I hope you like it!

- Perfume: So de la Renta, (here) Many people ask me the kind of perfume I wear. This has been my signature scent for quite a while. I find that it is both fresh and flirty, light and feminine, and very classic. When I looked online, I was pleasantly identified by the description in the Oscar de la Renta site: “For the spontaneous, energetic woman who spreads her enthusiasm everywhere she goes. A radiant, sparkling scent.” And also, “So de la Renta revels in the elegant, unexpected, playful side of the Oscar woman.”
- Lipstick: In order to follow the Bordeaux trend for fall, I picked up this wonderfully rich shade of burgundy by Revlon, called Black Cherry 477 (here), and lined my lips with the Obsession 064 (here) from Rimmel.
Estoy aterrada con el nivel de devastación que ha causado Sandy en nordeste Americano. Al mismo tiempo, me siento agradecida que no fuimos afectados, pero no puedo dejar de pensar que hubieramos estado mejor preparados para lidiar con ella aqui. Me siento un poco tonta poniendo esta entrada en el blog cuando se que tanta gente lo está pasando mal, asi que sera algo corto y sencillo.
Ésto fue lo que me puse para el Dia 1 del Fall Remix que Jessica, de What I Wore, patrocinó en su blog. Teníamos que combinar la misma pieza de nuestros armarios de otoño de dos formas diferentes. Yo escogí esta chaqueta cruzada, y ésta fue la forma mas informal en la cual la combiné. Mañana publicaré la segunda combinación que lucí.
Aunque la chaqueta no tiene el color morado rojizo de los pantalones y el suéter, me pareció que pegaba muy bien con los marrones, amarillos y rojos que tiene, y para unirlo todo mejor, lo combiné con accesorios de un marrón claro tirando a anaranjado. Espero que les guste!

- Perfume: So de la Renta, (aqui) Mucha gente me pregunta qué perfume uso. Ésta ha sido mi fragancia por bastante tiempo. Encuentro que es fresca y coqueta, ligera y femenina, y muy clásica. Cuando busqué la descripción en la página de Oscar de la Renta, quedé gratamente identificada con lo que decía: “Para la mujer espontánea y energética que reparte su entusiasmo dondequiera que va. Una fragancia radiante y chispeante.” Y también, ”So de la Renta se deleita en el lado elegante, inesperado y divertido del tipo de mujer que representa Oscar de la Renta.”
- Pintura de Labios: Para seguir la tendencia del vinotinto o burdeos que está tan de moda este otoño, compré este color borgoña con una saturación perfecta y cremosa. Se llama Black Cherry 477 (aqui), y delineé los labios con Obsession 064 de Rimmel (aqui)
