This is one of those looks that transitions well from work to fun. I wore this to work, but then, I attended a fabulous fundraising event put together by a classmate from my school. It was wonderful to see so many friends I had not seen since I graduated from highschool! Although we all keep in touch and stay connected, it’s hard to see many of them, particularly if they were not from my grade.
Anyway, back to the outfit! I wore a very simple outfit, but added accessories to elevate it to a classic and understated, but elegant look. That is, precisely, the power of accessories!
I particularly love my Lady Dior handbag, which I received as a birthday gift from my parents. I have wanted this bag for as long as I can remember, but the traditional closure (with a zipper) had made me doubt. Enter Maria Grazia Chiuri, and the redesign had me at “hello!” No uncomfortable zipper! Definitely, a design made by a woman who understands women!
Most of you may know the now famed history of the Lady Dior. The original handbag was designed by Gianfranco Ferre, who was at the helm of Dior. The bag was not yet fully available and had a different name, but Madame Chirac, wife of then president, Chirac, chose it as a welcome gift for Lady Diana Spencer. Lady Di LOVED it, and wore it so much that the bag began to be known as the Lady Dior handbag! A classic and timeless design, for sure!
