A Key to the Armoire - A Personal Style Blog by Susana Fernandez

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll recognize this table, which I created back in January, to celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany or Three Kings Day. However, with Easter Sunday approaching this week, I figured I could give you a bit of early inspiration by sharing it, particularly because the blossoms make it a perfect Spring table too.

This table was set for a late afternoon “merienda”, which included a consomme or bouillon, finger sandwiches, and hot chocolate with a “Roscón de Reyes”.

The table started when I wanted to incorporate the three colors traditionally associated with the Magi; red, blue, and green. Instead of red, I went with its softer shade: pink. I also knew I wanted lots of gold, so I used my 1930s, Pickard China chocolate set in the “Rose & Daisy” pattern, and arranged it on top of a Caspari gold-leafed placemat that I put on top of a cut crystal cake stand. A Pickard biscuit jar served as the vase for my little arrangement.

I dressed the table in a base linen tablecloth, to which I added a topper in tulle, that is embroidered in gold and silver.

For each place setting, I chose a green and gold Rosenthal charger; dinner and salad plates from the Mandarin Blue pattern by Ralph Lauren Home; and vintage Limoges bouillon cups by Haviland in the Monceau pattern. The flatware featured vintage Italian Gottinghen forks and knives, and Godinger Gold Chateau spoons. I also added Depression glass, etched yellow bowls for the whipped cream, and used Godinger Jardin demitasse saucers as underplates. The glassware is also vintage, as are the linen cocktail napkins. Small glass bud vases enlivened each place setting.

Since this was a late “merienda”, I added Baldwin Brass candlesticks with cased green/white glass candlestick shades, which I was surprised to find on Etsy, and are linked below, if you would like to get yours!

Overall, it is a happy and festive table, that I hope inspires you to set a beautiful Easter one!

I have included the same or similar products below, so be sure to check them out!
